Purpose: To share and encourage. Writers can express doubts and concerns without fear of appearing foolish or weak. Those who have been through the fire can offer assistance and guidance. It’s a safe haven for insecure writers of all kinds!

Actually, you don’t have to be an insecure writer to enjoy the posts by IWSG. The awesome co-hosts for the the August 5 posting of the IWSG are:

Nancy Gideon, Bob R Milne, Doreen McGettigan, Chrys Fey, Bish Denham, and Pat Garcia!

I Got Hugs From Angela Ackerman

I ‘flew’ solo when I wrote my first novel. It took ten years. If I’d had a pit crew, it would have taken much less time. And it would have been so  much more fun. Angela and Becca, and many others, are now on my pit crew in  my writer’s cave.

And today, I’ve been accepted on the

Writers Helping Writers

ONE STOP FOR WRITERS STREET TEAM.

Like, wow! Angela and Becca, the creators of WHW, have sent hugs to all of us who have been accepted as the street team for this exciting new program. We are all over the moon with giggles and hugs.

October 7th is the planned launch date.  If you would like to receive updates directly from Writers Helping Writers, contact Angela and Becca at:  http://onestopforwriters.com/

ONE STOP FOR WRITERS®

ANGELA ACKERMAN: “Within One Stop, writers will be able to easily access over two dozen thesauri, dictionaries, unique generators and other tools that will help them plan incredible stories, build compelling characters, and improve their descriptive writing in many areas. No more staring at a blank screen, minutes slipping by, as one tries to best describe a character’s emotions or how a curl of mist unfolds itself across a swamp in the moonlight. No more aimless Internet surfing for the perfect symbol to show a protagonist’s internal conflict or wading through Google hits to find a way to describe his personality. Like a library, One Stop is a muster point for all this information and more, streamlining research so a writer spends more time doing what they intended: putting words on the page.”

  1. Congratulations!
Writers helping writers is an awesome group!
A pit crew is awesome – I’ve found a few great writers that generously help when needed. It is wonderful! Great idea! Angela, and yes, i get the updates too! Love hearing the good news!

    1. The writing community has been one of the best surprises to me since I began fifteen years ago. I didn’t expect total strangers to respond like long-time friends when I asked questions, some pretty basic stuff, like “What is a swag?” Everyone has been so understanding and kind. Thanks for stopping by Yolanda.

  2. Aw, what a beautiful shout out! Thank you so much! I am thrilled you are giving some of your time to help out with this new project of mine. It is always a bit scary to try something new, but I think when we step outside our comfort zone, that’s where magic happens. I am very excited, and can’t wait to share more about this new resource with the street team! 🙂

    1. Hi Nick. Life can be hard. Writing, you may have discovered, is harder. If someone had told me how much work it is to get a manuscript ready for publication, I might have taken up knitting. But then, I would never have meet great people like you. What are you working on lately?

That sounds like an amazing group to be a part of and also a fantastic resource for all writers.
